Editorial policy and review standard
A public standard for sourcing, safety, evidence and corrections.
1. Source hierarchy
Time-sensitive UK rules are checked against GOV.UK, APHA and legislation. Welfare and health explanations prioritise veterinary manuals, veterinary organisations, universities and recognised animal-welfare bodies.
2. Health boundary
Health content describes observation, prevention, biosecurity and routes to help. It does not diagnose an individual bird or prescribe treatment. Urgent signs and notifiable-disease obligations are given prominent placement.
3. Experience claims
We will not claim first-hand experience or qualifications that we cannot evidence. Guidance distinguishes documented sources from direct observation.
4. Corrections and updates
Material corrections will be dated. Rules and source guidance will be rechecked when a page is substantially updated. A public corrections contact will be added when editorial operations open.
5. Artificial intelligence
Automation may assist structure, editing or quality checks, but factual claims still require source review. We will not invent testing, owners, veterinarians, qualifications, quotations or first-hand experience.
6. Privacy and measurement
Optional Google Analytics measurement is blocked until a visitor explicitly accepts it. Visitors can reject analytics without losing access and can reopen Cookie settings from every page.
